Rack Locator Installation Steps

The procedure to install a rack with an A740 kit is the following.

  1. Survey the rack and determine whether or not the rack will support an A740 Rack locator installation.
  2. Determine the number of LED strips and the length of LED strips needed for the rack.
  3. Using CenterScape, find a four digit IR Code that is not currently in use. Do not use codes 0000 or 0001.
  4. Program A740 Rack locator with the four digit IR Locator code and label the A740 Controller for the rack it will be installed in.
  5. Configure Centerscape or use integration method to add IR Rule to CenterScape for rack.
  6. Physically install rack locator to cabinet.

For efficient large numbers of A740 installs steps 1 through 5 can be accomplished prior to step six. Large numbers of identical racks from a single manufacturer do no need to be individually surveyed.
